Thursday afternoon here in the office. I'm contemplating, and guess what... it's the 2nd day of August 2012, that reminded me that I'm already on my third month of being part of the workforce; third month of paying taxes and other stuff that you need to actually feel legit about these requirements that the corporate world is willing to offer.
And it all boils down to one thing... I miss school. I definitely miss school. Moments where you could act as if you don't have any worries about tomorrow, except if there's an exam, recitation or whatever paper works that you need to submit to get your degree and to test if you have the ability to think uniquely from the others. On the other note, when you're already working your ass off, you get to know the value of money and you get to learn that every centavo counts, that being a 'bulakbol' will make you suffer and that idea isn't cool after all.
Gone are the days when you can actually roam around the campus, gain some friends, and party all night that you not need to worry about a thing. Well, you can freely do that when you're already working, but party at your own risk. It gives you the freedom and the hint that you should be more responsible for what you do, what you say and for whatever you are about to face. It gives you the right to decide. No one could ever dictate what you should do and what you should not... These things are overwhelming but like I've said, you do everything at your own risk, it all means that you should think about it more than thrice to finally give your 'yes' or 'no' to things that are knocking on your door.
Being independent is really the catch of the total freedom swag that others are talking about. But somehow, you also need the guidance of others. Not all the time we can think right; there are too many fail decisions we have to make for us to learn what can really work for us. It's also nice to have someone to take good care of you, and will tell you the things that you need and want to hear to keep you going. It's good to have your parents on your side especially in times of troubles and depression, that you will feel invincible whenever you are with them, you feel safe and nobody could ever cause you harm.
'Balance', the word that I know of to keep everyone going. Not too little yet not too much. It gives us this total reaction that everything is doing well, everything is at the safe phase and nothing could ever ruin it. I know there are lot of things that will come my way, our way. I may have cold feet, I may have not. But one thing's for sure. I'm ready.
So life, keep it coming.
